PRAYER OF A SMALL DOG

It isn't easy
Not at all
Being a dog
Just one foot tall


A thimbleful
In a world of pints
A Gulliver
In a land of Giants


Dear God I beg
Please make me tall
Hear the prayer
Of one so small


I do not ask
For much you know
Just an inch or two
Or three or so


For what a handsome
Puppy I would be
If only I were
One foot three.
